What inspired you to start your nonprofit? Share your unique vision or motivation.

My inspiration came from seeing so many people on the streets begging for money and food. Although I did not have money, I knew I could get food. One day I stopped and asked the man what he wanted to eat. I went and got it, and we chatted and learned so much in a 20-minute conversation. I continued to come back every day and the crowd became bigger most of them just wanted to talk, fresh clothing, and assistance applying for Medicaid and food stamps. After assisting them with their needs I was told you should have a nonprofit to be legal to help people. Your passion is real, and your glow shows you care. From that point on Operation X, We Feed All in Need was formed. I chose this name because there is no look when you need assistance. It's about knowing someone cares enough to show empathy and aid. My vision is to grow and continue to work with other non-profits to spread the word about just how amazing it can be to help individuals and see that smile on their faces. I’m always looking for sponsorship as I am trusting God at his time to provide me with a building to be able to house individuals, feed them, clothing, and provide resources such as jobs, housing, and mental health services.

How does your cultural background or personal experiences influence your business approach?

My cultural background is a culture of giving and paying it forward. For as long as I can remember helping people was a level of giving back that surrounded me growing up. The love I have for others to see them win is what motivates me to continue to carry on my journey to help anyone anytime including on my vacations. I have walked in the shoes of the community I serve yes at one point I was homeless sleeping in my car and using Wi-Fi to do homework. I have the scares to provide the empathy that allows me to provide as much as I can to ensure my people are better than yesterday.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced as a diverse business owner and how did you overcome them?

So, of the biggest challenges I have face is being a small diverse business I’m not taken seriously by larger nonprofit organizations and businesses. I understand and accept the statement sorry we will not be able to assist you at this time. God said that when that door closes be patient, I have a bigger door coming with endless opportunities. Staying faithful and trusting God that he will bring the people in my circle that will help me achieve my goal.

Describe your products or services in a way that showcases your unique perspective or offering.

Operation X We Feed All in Need provides food, clothing, and shelter (when funds are available) resources from mental health assistance to social services. I speak with landlords and employees for job placement.

How do you aim to make a positive impact on your community or industry?

My aim to make a positive impact is to continue to keep an open mind and always remember every situation is different and must be handled differently although the circumstances seem to be the same. Treat people how I want to be treated always leave them with the kind word that God has angels that cover you do you touch time. Keep the faith for God is always with you.

What strategies have you found successful in reaching and engaging your target audience?

My strategies are simple attend as many events as possible promote your nonprofit carry the no with a smile and thank you for your time. I have social media, tap into live Facetime messages. Networking is the key to achieving your goals.

What resources or support do you think would be most valuable for diverse nonprofits like yours?

I think the resources that would be most valuable are making an appearance and selling your business to help with promotion and staying positive. Reaching out to other nonprofits and inviting them to your events begins the phase of networking. As my granddaughter says to me Grandma stay ready, so you do not have to get ready.

What are your goals and aspirations for your business in the coming years?

Operation X future vision and inspiration is to continue to grow, inspire individual to know that no matter what your circumstances may be believing in yourself and posing though all the no will bring you to the point of what you feel the success of your business is. For me and my nonprofit is sponsorship to obtain a building to complete my mission and stop homelessness and mental health growth.

Also, another one of my goals is to increase awareness of homelessness, mental health, networking, and staying strong to know God sees the work I put in and he will bring favor to Operation X We Feed All in Need.

What advice would you give to aspiring diverse entrepreneurs or nonprofit founders just starting out?

My only advice is never to give up and let all the no be an inspiration to keep pushing forward and go each time with a pitch to see your business. As I was once told you must be your biggest cheerleader to achieve your goal.

What message do you want to share with the audience about the significance of diverse small businesses or nonprofits?

My message to my audience is yes Operation X started as a small nonprofit now we are growing over the years. Never give up on your dreams. Relax, have fun learn from your mistakes, go out in others, and talk with people to see what advice they can give you. You will be surprised what advice and support you received. Never let that stop you someone will find you interested and want to support and help you.
