About:

We support initiatives and services dedicated to the military and veteran community. Our emphasis is on programs enhancing the health and overall well-being of service members, veterans, their families, and caregivers. This includes efforts to:

  • Improve social determinants of health
  • Reduce obstacles to accessing physical and mental healthcare
  • Expand access to programs promoting a healthy lifestyle
  • Create opportunities for veterans to flourish post-service

Requirements:

  • Offer services directly to the military/veteran population 
  • Operate through a non-profit organization 
  • Show financial responsibility and sustainability, with the submission of a 990EZ or 990 for the past two fiscal years 
  • Present an audited financial statement or a certified financial statement, including a balance sheet and income statement
  •  Demonstrate two years of gross receipts exceeding $50,000

Competitive applications will:

  • Clearly outline the program's rationale, covering:
    • Specific needs addressed by the program
    • Activities and outputs aligned with evidence-based practices
    • Impact on individuals served, including measurable outcomes
    • Tracking and reporting methods for the program's impact on participants
  • Describe a program that prioritizes inclusivity and equity in both process and outcomes, fostering deliberate diversity.
  • Demonstrate robust partnerships across the nonprofit and public sectors, tailored to the program's needs.
  • Highlight the staff's experience and expertise in the subject matter.
  • Explain how the program utilizes scientific evidence, program evaluations, and industry best practices to enhance its delivery.
  • Ensure that the program complements publicly available services from entities like the Small Business Administration and U.S. Departments of Defense, Labor, and Veterans Affairs.
  • Show the program's readiness to benefit from professional executive leadership and governance.

Application Deadline:

We accept applications year-round.

  • Applications submitted by January 11, 2024, will receive a response by the end of July 2024*

How To Apply:

Returning users can log in to the grantee portal after reviewing our guidance below and proceed to Step 4. If your organization needs login credentials, email [email protected].

New users should follow these steps:

Create an account for your organization, saving the username and password used during the account creation (note: the username is not your email).

Confirm your account by clicking the link in the confirmation email (check your junk folder).

After confirming your account, you'll receive an email to create a new password (at least 8 characters).

Log in and select "Explore Grant Opportunities" to access the application.

Complete the required fields and choose "Review/Submit" to review your application.

After completing your application, choose "Submit."

Confirm your submission by checking the "Applications" tab in your Grantee Dashboard.

Once you've followed these steps to create your account, access our grantee portal. We review all applications and notify applicants about their application status.
